I am just over two weeks home from a partial knee replacement done by Dr. Girish Bhalerao at Glen Eagles Hospital in Mumbai. This operation was arranged by IndiCure and was seamless from my initial communication to my return home. First - the communication, knowledge and expertise of Dr Girish is exceptional. He explained in detail the options, full replacement , partial Replacement, the bio mechanics involved and why the wear was really isolated to the medial right side. He brought intelligence, humour and humility to the discussion and no question was dismissed or ignored. My level of comfort increased as the conversation went on. After the initial video consult I worked closely with the team at IndiCure, arranging options and timeframes. To back up - I was unable to walk without significant pain for more than a block, had tried synovial injections, cortisone? Physiotherapy and none helped. In Canada I was referred for surgery and received a polite letter from the government saying the wait was a minimum of 37 months. At 67 years of age, unable to perambulate 37 months was leading to unacceptable health outcomes. Weight gain, loss of function, addition wear and tear on joints compensating for the initial injury. The process from initial consult in india to operation to return home was a matter of months. To be transparent I explored surgery options in Canada, the US, Poland, Lithuania and Israel. Only two suggested a partial and only one - Dr Girish took the time to fully explain. Price in India was also very attractive. Having made the decision I flew to Mumbai on April 27 arriving the 28th. The 28th was a full day of tests, CT, X-Rays, and Echo Cardiogram and blood work due to co morbidities and visits to a cardiologist, anaesthesia and finally back to the surgeon. Check in was the night of April 29th, surgery April 30, discharge May 3 and home May 8. In hind sight - I bit quick. We went around the block on discharge on the 2nd but one more day and the fantastic work of Dr. Sahil Bhaisaheb Physiotherapist improvement was swift. The extra day allowed 4 more physio sessions. Essential and so helpful. He is a true professional and pushed as necessary while ensuring safety. Interesting later Dr Girish walked in and advised not using a walker or cane and it was remarkable as the limitations are all mental. I was doing stairs unaided minutes later. The procedure is a full success. Mobility is excellent and the pain minimal and waning more each day. Some lessons learned. 1. Stay a little longer. For recovery and to explore this wonderful country. 2. An extra day in the hospital is essential 3. There is a hotel at the top of Glen Eagles. Had I known I would stay there at least for the first while. 4. The care is exceptional. Nursing, nutritional, housekeeping. All better than what I remember what our system was prior to the growth in authorities, bureaucracies, narrow and exclusive specializations particularly in nursing. 5. Go with the best you can find. In my case - Glen Eagles and IndiCures. 6. It appeared to be too good to be true for the cost - but the pricing was clear, there were no surprises and the process was seamless. 7. One final comment. Pick up 8. At the airport on arrival was tragically dismal. As all airports / there were many greeters with your name helping you after a long flight. The person assigned by Glen Eagles was no where to be found and it took a kind concierge with the Hilton to find him hidden in a place as a new arrival I would have never found.

As an American tourist, I unexpectedly needed medical care during my trip and visited Dr. Girish at Gleneagles Hospital. Even without an appointment, I was seen promptly and received outstanding care. Dr. Girish was professional, thorough, and reassuring. He took the time to perform a careful assessment, clearly explained his thought process and diagnosis, and even showed me relevant medical information on his computer to help me better understand my condition. I also needed an X-ray and blood tests, and the entire hospital staff was friendly, efficient, and professional. I received a copy of my X-ray immediately, my blood test results were emailed to me the following day, and I was able to communicate with Dr. Girish through WhatsApp for follow-up questions, which was incredibly convenient. Overall, I had an excellent experience at Gleneagles Hospital. The quality of care, professionalism, and efficiency exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend both Dr. Girish and the hospital to anyone seeking medical care.

Our family is Korean. Three months ago, my brother suffered a sudden brain hemorrhage and underwent emergency surgery at Gleneagles Hospital. Thanks to the highly skilled and experienced neurosurgery team, the surgery was successful. Since then, through about three months of rehabilitation, my brother's health has been improving day by day. Now, my brother and our family are returning to Korea soon. Dr. Sahil Husain, the physiotherapy department director, has been immensely helpful for my brother's rehabilitation from the post-surgery period up until now. We are deeply grateful for this. We would also like to express our profound gratitude to the neurosurgery team for always taking such great care of him.
