Nepal
South Asia · 5 reviewsNamaste everyone, I am sharing this as an honest and deeply emotional account of my recent experience at Medanta Hospital. In the last week of December 2025, my mother and I traveled from Nepal to Gurugram with great hope. Being a doctor myself (MBBS), I had heard about the reputation of this hospital and expected a high standard of care, especially in complex cases. I had been struggling with symptoms that were not properly diagnosed in Nepal, and I strongly suspected a thyroid-related issue involving my eyes. With this concern, we visited the endocrinology department seeking expert guidance. Unfortunately, my experience there was extremely disappointing and heartbreaking. We consulted Dr. Rajesh Rajput, the Head of the Endocrinology Department. However, he did not allow me to fully explain my symptoms or clinical concerns. Despite me trying to communicate both as a patient and as a medical professional, I was interrupted and dismissed. He spoke harshly, stating that my condition was not within his field, and asked us to leave without proper evaluation or referral. As a doctor myself, I understand clinical boundaries—but I also know the importance of listening to patients, especially when the diagnosis is unclear. What hurt the most was not just the lack of guidance, but the absence of basic empathy and professional courtesy. As a patient who had traveled internationally with so much hope, this interaction was deeply distressing. I felt unheard, disrespected, and completely discouraged. I broke down in tears right there. We left the hospital and returned to our hotel feeling lost and emotionally shaken. Despite this, we decided to try again the next day. We visited the ophthalmology department, where I was finally evaluated properly and diagnosed with thyroid eye disease—the very condition I had been trying to explain. While I am grateful that I eventually received a diagnosis, the initial experience left a lasting emotional impact. We returned to Nepal for further management, carrying both relief and disappointment. I am sharing this not out of anger, but to highlight how crucial communication, empathy, and respectful patient care are—especially in reputed institutions. A few minutes of attentive listening could have made a huge difference. I sincerely hope no other patient—especially someone traveling from another country—has to go through such an experience. Thank you for reading.

The doctor, Randhir Sud, and his team are extremely knowledgeable and were able to treat my mom and make her feel better in no time. Oceania · 1 reviewPatient ID MM03265264 Alok Kumar Mishra I have great disappointment with accounts department. On 5th may 2026 I paid Rs16740 for coronary angio. I did not have past report with me as such I decided not to go for the test. I submitted for the refund and dispite constant follow up and assurances no refund was made. My coordinator Avroto was regularly following up. Today 16th June I got the message that my refund was processed on 11.05.2026 for around Rs. 11000. The amount so mentioned has not hit my account so far. This whole episode is quite frustrating. I wrote to the compliance department and subsequent follow up email but of no avail. I am carrying very bad experience back my country and shall share this. Vaidam Fiji facilitated my treatment. I earnestly believe that my full refund will be made asap. I am returning back to Fiji on 1st July. I may mention that I was very satisfied with treatment and other facilities for me and my wife.
