International · 3 reviewsOn ground floor at report collection centre Mr Arvind is managing all the things there. I never seen him on mobile or sitting idle. Two more staff members are there. One male staff member seems like passing the time there. Good Job Mr Arvind. You should be noticed and awarded. Keep this momentum up.
We had a harrowing experience at Manipal Hospital with my 80 year old mom's sudden medical condition. We called the ambulance at 1 PM, and what followed was a frustrating 45-minute ordeal of answering endless questions while she lay critically ill. My house is less than one km from the Manipal hospital in Dwarka. what came was a poorly maintained Maruti van and not a hospital ambulance as assured. There seems to be some kind of ambulance mafia where no proper SOP is of followed, and there were no medical personals to handle the patient. For example, the mask they made her wear was absolutely unhygienic kept poorly in vehicle. The stretcher did not have any pillow and was metal frame. This was the first dehumanizing experience, of the day. What followed was traumatic and words are short to express our concern and hence I am writing this complain. I'm still shaken by the horrific experience my family endured at Manipal Hospital in Dwarka. After a 45-minute wait for an ambulance that turned out to be a poorly maintained van, my mother was made to wait further inside the vehicle. The doctor in the emergency room asked us to check for availability of bed in ICU at the emergency counter. The emergency counter personals asked us to check it with Nikhil. When we finally figured who Nikhil was, he asked us to go and check emergency registration counter. Despite the urgency of her condition, she was left unattended for an unacceptable amount of time in the van like ambulance. The CRM's office was consistently locked, and we were unable to get any support. Even the reception staff did not have contact details of the CRM . The situation escalated when bouncer-like men became condescending towards my wife, and when I asked him to maintain distance and speak, he falsely accused me of pushing him. What's appalling is that the focus was on bureaucratic procedures rather than patient care. I do understand the importance of paperwork, but isn’t it basic process to start the treatment while the family takes care of all the procedures. I ask the Management why was my mother made to wait inside the ambulance that too in front of the Emergency Wing in the scorching heat. The treating doctors were supportive, but the staff seemed overworked and insensitive. In the ICU for about 10-15 patients there was only one male and female GDA staff. I urge you to review the CCTV footage and investigate the CRM's absence from their room. This is not an isolated incident; we've had multiple visits to Manipal Hospital, and the lack of support from the CRM is a recurring issue. Something needs to change. It is not the responsibility of a patient's family to check for ICU bed availability. The ordeal we've endured is unbearable, and I'm bringing this to your attention, hoping you'll address it with utmost concern. A hospital of your stature should prioritize patient care over bureaucratic hassles. I urge you to take immediate action to rectify this and ensure that such negligence doesn't recur.
Highly disgusting. Very bad experience. Today I visited Manipal hospital dwarka for the first time when my niece was admitted. She was supposed to get a single room for which she is entitled as per CGHS norms but unfortunately she was shifted to economy ward after 8 pm. After waiting for such a long time they had mentally drained us when we went to the economy ward. All patients and attendants were male where my niece was supposed to stay with her mother. We requested a lot for change but they said that nothing can happen after 8 pm though there was a single room available at 6th floor and they were supposed to give that. It's highly disgusting to see how these hospitals keep male and female patients/ attendants in one ward. My request to admin to kindly consider this factor for all patients. They had already drained mentally the patient and also her mother who is the attendant. Howcome they can think of happening anything good with them when they are treated in such a manner. If they do not want any CGHS patient to get any single room they could have told us timely but they wait till 8 pm so that no one can complain. Highly disgusting.
